You sighed as you sat on the floor of the now empty
hallway, normal students would be in the cafeteria right now, or maybe even
class. However, you’d gotten used to sitting alone in the hallways and eating
your lunch on the floor, watching as few people walked back and forth while
muttering a simple “hi” or “hey” to you.
You kept your head down buried in your phone trying to
distract yourself from hunger, today’s lunch menu made your stomach churn and
you felt like gagging. The food didn’t even seem solid enough, it was
absolutely soggy and squishy, you could barely even tell what it was. You
seemed to shiver at the thought of eating it, “Disgusting,” you mumbled to
yourself before returning to your continuous scrolling. “That looks really
bad.” You were startles by the deep voiced that seemed to appear out of
nowhere, you hadn’t even heard footsteps.
You peered up to see a smiling Taehyung standing
before you. He pointed to the vacant spot next to you, silently asking you if
he could occupy it. Your simple nod had him smiling just a bit more, he dug
into his bag and pulled out what seemed to be a small box of sweets. “You
should eat these instead.” He said already grabbing a handful and stuffing his
mouth with them. You hesitated, contemplating whether you’d accept it or not
before he playfully pouted, “Come on, do you really want to eat that slop
they’re trying to feed you?” Without a second thought you accepted his
offering.
Taehyung was a very good acquaintance of yours, you
wouldn’t call him a friend yet considering the fact that the two of you have
only had one actual conversation. It wasn’t that you didn’t want to talk to
him, in fact you loved when he decided to sit down next to you and tell you
about his day or vice versa. Your heart just pounded so deeply into your chest
hat you felt as though it were visible. There were many times that you tried to
force yourself to speak more to him, but you’d just turn into a stuttering mess
to the point where you have to excuse yourself.
He began ranting on and on about his entire day, the
week was stressful for everyone because they were prepping for exams. This only
caused your mood to deteriorate since you didn’t want to actually think about
your exams until the night before, when you’re in the comfort of your own room
to cry. Taehyung noticed your quietness, it wasn’t the one he was used to, you
were zoning out and your face seemed to have contorted into a slight frown. “Is
something wrong?” He asked with concern laced in his voice, it almost made your
heart skip a beat. “Am I bumming you out talking about school and stuff?” He
questioned again, you only shook your head no, not wanting to bother him with a
sob story.
“You can tell me if you want, but if you don’t want to
that’s fine too.” He assured you to not make you feel pressured. One of the
many things about him that caught your eye, he always managed to make whoever
he was around relaxed, this would be the case for you if you weren’t so damn
infatuated with him. People began filling the halls on the floors below you
both, signaling that the next period has started, a small groan left your lips,
you didn’t want to have to go to geometry, not to mention you kind of just sit
in the back on your phone.
“I don’t want to go to class.” You muttered under your
breath as you rose to your feet, “You don’t have to.” Tae replied grabbing your
hand, you started to blushed profusely at his sudden action. He had quite the
grip but it was gentle at the same time. “We could just stay here instead.” He
suggested with a slight shrug, without a second thought you slowly sat back
down next to him and gave him a small smile to which he returned with one twice
as big. It seemed that you both talked about nothing yet something for a while,
which in reality was only 15 minutes.
Your face once again turned a bright red as he rested
his head into your lap, casually continuing the conversation from where he left
off. Your small fingers gently caressed his hair, however you quickly pulled
away, thinking that he’d find it weird. Taehyung pouts and gently grabs your
hand, threading your nimble fingers into his hair as an invitation for you to
continue.
“Shouldn’t you two be in class?” A deep voice said
startling you both, Taehyung quickly sat up only to be faced with your teacher
towering over you. “Oh, we are.” Taehyung quickly answered making you turn to
him, he then grabbed your hand, smiling at your teacher before dragging you
along with him in the opposite direction. “Are we really going to class?” You
whined a bit.
“No! Are you crazy? We’re finding a hiding place,” he
laughed and you giggled along with him.
“What about the bathroom?”
“That’s a really bad idea.”
“Yeah, you’re right, how about the library? No one
will bother us in the back.”
“Perfect.” You nodded in agreement, climbing down the
stairway to the third floor. You then reached the library and quietly made your
way past the front desk into the back which was vacant at the moment. You
situated yourself on the floor and Taehyung did the same, returning to his
position on your lap, soon enough you were back to your previous conversation,
you finally even felt comfortable to talk about your school life with him.
“It’s hard to catch up now, I’m just gonna fail,” You
sighed sadly running your hands through his hair. “Well there’s not much to do
now, you’re smart and I know it,” He smiled causing you to hide your own small
grin away from him, “You just have to learn from what you did wrong now and do
better, you still have time left.” He reassured you while playing with your
small fingers. You took his words into consideration and thought about it for a
while, you then realized he was right, all you can do was your best now and try
better the next time. It brightened your mood a bit how he seemed to fix your
problems with one simple conversation.
More bodies began to move around signaling that the
next period was beginning, you then gently stood up and Tae followed behind
you. “I would stay longer but I don’t want to miss my next class.” You said
grabbing your belongings and placing them into your bag, he nodded
understandingly and walked with you to your classroom.
“Isn’t your class two floors up?” You raised an
eyebrow and he replied with a simple “yes.”
“Then where are you going?”
“Walking you to class.” He said in a matter of fact
tone before pulling you into a quick hug when you got to the door. “I had fun
today, let’s do it again, maybe somewhere that isn’t school.” He smirked before
leaving you to go to his own class period. You’d let out a breath that you
weren’t even aware that you were holding in, this boy would be the death of you
and you knew it, but you were okay with that.
A/N: This was my first really long imagine, well imagine that was above 700 words and I feel slightly proud, I hope you like it too
